Accessibility — et al.

et al. is a Safari extension for Mac, iPhone, and iPad. I want it to work well for people who use different display, motion, keyboard, and assistive technology settings. This page describes what is currently listed in the App Store and what I’m still testing.

Supported features listed in the App Store

For Mac, et al. currently lists support for these accessibility features:

Dark Interface: the wrapper app, Safari popup, Library, and extension surfaces support light and dark appearances.
Sufficient Contrast: the interface uses readable text colors, visible focus states, and stronger borders or contrast when system settings call for them.
Differentiate Without Color Alone: the app uses text labels, icons, shape, focus, and selection cues instead of relying only on color. Highlight colors can also be renamed.
Reduced Motion: decorative animations and motion-heavy transitions are reduced or removed when Reduce Motion is enabled.

Keyboard and assistive technology

et al. includes keyboard focus states, labels for many custom controls, dialog semantics, live status messages, and keyboard navigation help. I am still doing a full VoiceOver and Voice Control verification pass before listing those features as fully supported in the App Store.

Not listed right now

Some features are not listed because they are still being tested or do not apply to the app’s common tasks.

VoiceOver and Voice Control: testing is in progress across the wrapper app, Safari popup, Library, citations, Ask, and on-page highlighting.
Larger Text: parts of the interface are built to wrap instead of clip, but the full 200% text-size evaluation is not complete yet.
Captions and Audio Descriptions: et al. does not play audio or video as part of its main app experience.
